Any questions let me know via my contact form

The DPA & GDPR May 2018

This website complies with the DPA (Data Protection Act 1998) and complies with GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) which came into effect in May 2018.

What data do I collect?

When filling out my contact form I will ask for your names, a method of contacting you, like an email/phone number, the shoot date, and a location if relevant (you can let me know a little bit about yourselves and the day too). To book you will be asked for your address so I can send out your contract and any USB or albums (if you order one). After booking me I will gather the information required to document the day.

What do I do with the data?

When you fill out my contact form your data is transferred to my awesome booking software called Lightblue (which is also GDPR compliant). I use your data to respond to you and make/complete bookings. Only 2 devices have access to this software and both are password protected.

If you choose to book me your client gallery will be supplied via Pic-Time (who are also GDPR compliant).

Your images are stored and backed up securely on drives attached to my computer that are password protected.

Occasionally I like to submit images to wedding blogs (such as Rock n Roll Bride, and Love my dress) but I always ask permission first.

Use of cookies (nom nom nom)

This website (like most sites) uses cookies (unfortunately not the edible kind) to better the user’s experience while visiting the website. As required by law, where applicable this website uses a cookie control system (the annoying wee pop-ups that ask you to accept the cookies…. would be ok if it were a nice choccy chip), allowing the user to give explicit permission or to deny the use of /saving of cookies on their computer/device.

What are cookies? Cookies are small files saved to the user’s computer’s hard drive that track, save, and store information about the user’s interactions and usage of the website. This allows the website, through its server to provide the users with a tailored experience…… still would prefer proper cookies.

If you don’t want to accept my cookies ( awww) you can take steps within your web browser security settings to block all cookies from this website and its external serving vendors or use the cookie control system on this site when you visit.

Website visitor tracking

This website uses software to track visitors to better understand how the site is used. The software will save a cookie to your computer’s hard drive to track and monitor your engagement and usage of the website, but will not store, save, or collect personal information.

External website links & third parties

I like to link to suppliers’ sites within my blog and websites that have featured my work. Although I only look to include quality, safe, and relevant external links, users are advised to adopt a policy of caution before clicking any external web links mentioned throughout this website.

We cannot guarantee or verify the contents of any externally linked website despite our best efforts. Users should therefore note they click on external links at their own risk and we cannot be held liable for any damages or implications caused by visiting any external links mentioned.

Social media policy & usage

There may be instances where this website features social sharing buttons, which help share web content directly from web pages to the respective social media platforms. Use social sharing buttons at your own risk and accept that doing so may publish content to your social media profile feed or page.

If you have booked me or are planning to, you have likely seen my work on my website, on my social media accounts, and/or on external sites. The couples in the images I have used agree to have their images shared, this is how I get people to see my work and get more bookings with awesome folks like yourselves. Some folks do prefer a wee bit of privacy though…. more below in the Your rights section.

Your rights

Send me an email if you have any questions regarding this data policy. You can ask for a copy of your data at any time (all I hold is what you tell me though). You have the right to have your images kept private (occasionally people choose this, and that’s cool ). You also have the right to request your personal data be deleted at any time (although if we have booked this may be a bit tricky as I won’t know where to send your stuff or where to go on the day!).
